Clinical Psychologist
Dr. Celeste Birkhofer is a licensed Clinical Psychologist and Adjunct Clinical Faculty member at Stanford Medical School, Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences. She maintains a private psychotherapy practice, teaches and supervises Stanford Psychiatry Residents, and is on the Clinical Advisory Board for the JED Foundation–a nonprofit dedicated to promoting emotional well being and reducing suicide risk in teens and young adults.
Dr. Birkhofer has authored additional works, including an award-winning academic published paper for first time authors, “Theoretical Diversity & Pluralism in Psychoanalysis: Change, Challenges & Benefits,” (2017). Her poem about her son’s death appeared in an edited collection, “Writing on the Moon,” (Zindel, 2017), and she contributed a piece on suicide, “Cane we talk…About Suicide?” for the JED Foundation website. She also wrote a personal piece on Substack about the tragedy of suicide and the impact her son' death by suicide had on her life (Dr Celeste Birkhofer).
