Robert Jordan, originally from Saint Remy, New York, was active in sports and the Future Farmers of America during his youth. He graduated from Kingston High School in 1977 and later earned an Associate of Arts in Criminal Justice from Ulster County Community College. He later earned another Associate of Arts in Political Science from the same college and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from SUNY Albany. In December 1992, the Golden Key National Honor Society inducted Robert. In February 1993, Robert enlisted in the U.S. Navy.

Robert served in the Navy in both international analytical and support roles, including assignments with Naval Special Warfare. He was a Naval Instructor, Master Training Specialist, Senior Enlisted Leader, and later commissioned as a Chief Warrant Officer. Throughout his career, Robert deployed to the Western Pacific, the Mediterranean Sea, and the Arabian Gulf. He also supported Operation ENDURING FREEDOM and Operation IRAQI FREEDOM, completing five tours of duty with ground units in Afghanistan and conducting contingency operations in eastern Africa. Robert retired from the Navy in October 2019 after serving at the Pentagon in Washington, DC.

Following his retirement, Robert worked as a Navy contractor and senior analyst. He later became an International Disaster Relief Operations Manager for the Christian Broadcasting Network's Operation Blessing. Additionally, he earned a Master of Arts in Theology from Regent University in the summer of 2021. He graduated from Regent University School of Psychology and Counseling with a Master of Arts in Christian Counseling in May 2024.

Robert is a published author who shares his life experiences, historical and philosophical insights, and biblically based content, including a series of teen novelettes. He has also collaborated with his granddaughter to publish a series of children's bedtime stories. His work has earned him two International Impact Book Awards. Furthermore, Robert has published a series of therapeutic books titled Emotional Healing: Coloring Pages for Those Living With PTSD. His latest book is The Warmth of the Gospel, Book II: An Anthology of Short Stories. He actively serves as a men’s ministry leader for Celebrate Recovery at Essential Church in Virginia Beach and hosts an international prayer group. Today, Robert is retired but continues to serve others as the host of The Veterans Outlook Podcast. He helps raise funds to aid and feed Afghan allies stranded after Kabul's fall in August 2021. He is also the Director of Bright Future Philanthropy Corporation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization focused on vocational training for girls in Afghanistan, which includes a subsidiary called Feeding the Widows of Kabul. Robert lives in Virginia Beach, Virginia, with his wife, Milagros, a homemaker from the Philippines who cares for family members. Milagros's steadfast love and support have been invaluable to Robert throughout his naval career and continue to be so today.
